From the ‘Concerns’ Desk ... October 2006
‘One more ezine on art… God, bless it and help the people behind this venture to hold on to the ideals that guide them. Let it not perish the way many other sites perished or degenerated in the past. Let it not become another farce!’ This will be the first thought that flits across in your mind when you open this site with some curiosity and a beautiful smile. Within the last couple of years many websites have appeared in the ever-expanding realm of blogging. Most of them died out without leaving a trace behind. The rest remain there with inconsequential ideas and targets.
Artconcerns.com, unlike other websites comes to you with a clear idea and vision. We proudly claim that it is a place for the art lovers to ‘learn and earn’. Creating a genuine platform for exchanging ideas, views and critiques on Indian contemporary art is our primary aim. Writers with the right academic qualifications write for us and well versed feature writers make our pages readable. Our columns carry fearless views on artistic creations. Our interviews give critical insights about artists’ life and works.
We do not shy away from the art market. And of course, do not pretend that we do it for ‘academic interest’ only. As we claim, artconcerns.com is a place for the Indian art lovers to ‘learn and earn’. Our Gallery space proves this point by presenting artists and their works with required background materials for the lovers to learn and buyers to purchase with confidence. This gallery space would be updated in every week. Kerala based art promoter Dilip Narayanan, with his exceptional experience as a gallerist and promoter is my collaborator in this venture. Promising to give you some unforgettable moments in the virtual space,
Yours,
JohnyML
