The Painted Platters Release at Guild, Mumbai

On 18th October 2007, the Guild Gallery, Mumbai organized a special exhibition of the saras paintings of the veteran artist K.G.Subramanyan. A book titled ‘The Painted Platters” written by Prof.R.Sivakumar was released on the occasion. The book deals with KGS’ two decade long involvement with the platter painting (sara). Dr.Sarayu Doshi presented the artist to the august crowd. Veteran artist and KGS’ friend Krishen Khanna released the book. KGS talked briefly about his involvement with saras. Prof.Sivakumar enlightened the audience with the history of saras painting.
