Harmony 2008 Awards Declared
Harmony Art Foundation declared its awards for young and emerging talents in the field of visual arts, during its annual art show held in Mumbai’s Nehru Centre. Baroda based young artists Dilip Chobisa and Krupa Makhija are the winners of this award. While declaring the award the Harmony Foundation chairperson, Tina Anil Ambani said that the jury could not find any sculptors this year who deserve promotions. However, the foundation would carry on with its search for new talents, she added. Dhruv Mistry was the Artist in Focus, in the Harmony Annual art show.

Tangerine Arts’ ‘Divergent Discourses’ in Bangalore
With the objective of popularising Indian art, Tangerine, a Bangalore based art gallery will organise a talk on art appreciation. The lead speaker will be the Director of Saffron Art, Mr Dinesh Vazirani. Alongside, it will showcase an exhibition featuring works of Indian masters titled ' Divergent Discourses' featuring works of master artists such as Manu Parekh, Paritosh Sen, Ramanand Bandhopadhyay, Chandra Bhattacharya, Achuthan Kudallur, Jogen Chowdhary, Madhvi Parekh, Shuva Prasanna, Shipra Bhattacharya, G R Santosh, T Vaikuntam, Surya Prakash, Yousuf Arakkal, S G Vasudev, Rini Dhumal, Rameshwar Broota, Vasundhara Tewari Broota, Krishen Khanna, Laxma Goud & Gurucharan Singh.
The venue is The Royal Orchid Hotel, Airport Road and the event is scheduled to be held at 7 pm on Monday the 14th of April '08.
A similar program 'Articulate' was held at the Bangalore Club on 22nd May '07 and was chaired by Neville Tuli, the founder chairman of Osian's, India's leading Art Fund. It was a phenomenal success and close to 1,500 of the super elite members were in attendance. A top-of-the-line catalogue featuring works of the participating artists was released at the event. |
