Max Streicher at Gallery Maskara, Mumbai

The newly opened Gallery Maskara at the Warehouse on 3rd Pasta Lane, Colaba, Mumbai presents the inflatable works by the Toronto, Canada based artist Max Streicher. Titled ‘Max Streicher-Solo show’, this is curated by the gallerist, Abhay Maskara. “Max Streicher combines meticulously sewn lightweight fabric with industrial fans and simple valve mechanism to create wondrous works that stirs our imagination and stimulates spontaneous and deeply emotional reactions in adults and children alike,” says the curator.  Max was invited for a one month residency in Mumbai so that he could dialogue with the exhibition space and finish the works using locally sourced material. This is the inaugural show at the ‘Warehouse on 3rd Pasta’ and is also the first ever showing in India for this artist. The show will be on view till 15th June 2008.
