Nagji Patel at Gallery Espace, New Delhi

Gallery Espace, New Delhi will showcase drawings and sculptures by internationally reputed sculptor, Nagji Patel from 18 January to 8 February 2008. This special exhibition is the artist’s first solo show since the mid 1990’s and will give a glimpse into his oeuvre- a large body of work spanning two-three decades and most importantly his most recent works, never displayed before. The exhibition has been curated by renowned critic and art historian, Roobina Karode and will be accompanied by a well-documented publication of the artist’s drawings, sculptures and public art projects.

The Guild Gallery, Mumbai presents ‘Mark Him’, latest project by Riyas Komu. In this show Riyas deals with Football as a social marker of class, power and hegemony. The show will be on till 6th January 2008.

Prabhavati Meppayil at Sakshi, Mumbai

Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai presents the  recent works by Prabhavathi Meppayil. The show opens on 21st December’07 and will be on view till 5th January’08.  Prabhavathi uses flecks of gold on pristine white gesso background and allows the viewers to admire the tendrils of gold entangled in the dance of life. There is an amalgamation of: Material - Gold and natural pigments, Form and Minimalism.

Tushar Joag at Chemould Prescott, Mumbai

Mumbai based artist Tushar Joag will present his latest works in a solo show titled ‘Reconciliation and Truth’ at the Chemould Prescott Gallery, Mumbai. The show opens on 12th January 2008 and will be on view till 31st January 2008.

Suryakanthi’s Golden Feather at LKA, New Delhi

Trivandrum based Suryakanthi Gallery presents a group show titled ‘Golden Feather’ at the Lalit Kala Akademy Galleries, New Delhi on 8th January 2008. Ajayakumar, B.D.Dethan, Kaladharan, C.N.Karunakaran, Koya NKP Muthu, Lizzie Jacob, P.Ratnasanan, Satyapal and Surendran are the participating artists. The show will be on till 14th January 2008.

Tapan Bhowmik at LKA, New Delhi

Delhi based painter and print maker Tapan Bhowmik presents his latest paintings in a solo show titled 'Recent Works' at the LKA Galleries in New Delhi. The show opens on 16th January 2008 and will be on view till 22nd January 2008. Tapan Bhowmik's works are noticed for the textural qualities and existential feel that they make.
